Description of Family vacation in Finland
This trip can be tailor made throughout the year to suit your requirements
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetThis vacation offers an alternative to the over-populated and mass-tourism driven destinations of southern Europe. This vacation resort is located in the Finnish countryside by lake Vanaja with beautiful beaches, forest and country roads surrounded by nature. You can hear the wind and the waves, birds singing and pick up berries if you find some. The vacation resort is using geothermal heating and sorting all its waste.
We are using public bus for transporting you from the airport to the vacation resort and again from Turku to the airport in order to make the transfers as ecological and convenient as possible.
The resort activities offered are man-driven, for example paddle boat, rowing, football, tennis. The night in tree tent offers a unique and safe opportunity to experience nature in an ecological and exciting way. Paddling by a canoe takes the whole family on a small river with a nature guide and learn about the eco system of lake nature.
PeopleOur agency is located in Tervakoski, next to the town of Hämeenlinna. This is the area we know the best and shall personally take our guests for a day tour in our neighbourhood. We promise to bring visitors to this beautiful southern lake district of Finland and offer genuine Finnish experiences: such as swimming in natural water, sauna and water sports, for example paddling or Nordic walking. The vacation resort is privately owned and it employs local people generating income to the local rural community.
Included in your itinerary there is a visit to the medieval castle of Häme, the most important cultural heritage site in the region. We'll also visit Wetterhoff, the house of arts and creative handicrafts.
The Moominworld is a tribute to author Tove Jansson's imagination and a children's culture classic, one and only of its kind. Finnish children in three generations have read the Moomin books and the Moomins have become part of the Finnish identity and an important part of cultural export of Finland.
