As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetOn this trip we visit marine parks for snorkelling experiences in the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. The Seychelles are working to protect their sea life and coral from destruction and each visit into the marine parks includes the permit fee to assist with conservation efforts, plus our trips abide the strict instructions to "leave behind nothing but your footsteps and take away nothing more than photographs and memories."
On Mahe and Praslin we use a private bus for our group because the public transport infrastructure cannot support our itinerary. However, the itinerary also takes us to La Digue where we will explore by bicycle and on foot to seek out the hidden treasures of the Island and enjoy the lazy pace of life. We travel between the islands on the country's impressive public catamaran ferry system alongside fellow travelers and locals.
As a travel company we are continually looking for ways to improve and are proud to be ‘Responsible in everything we do’. Education is key, and so all staff, Tour Leaders and partnering suppliers are trained in responsible and sustainable tourism. At our Head Office, we continually strive towards a sustainable and planet-friendly working environment, including having solar panels installed and a company commitment to reducing our plastic usage.
PeopleAs it's important for us to support the local economy and ensure our trips benefit the people of the Seychelles, we work with local staff. Your Seychellois leader has been trained by a member of our team to offer our consistent, high standards during this island hopping experience, while offering you local insight and being able to show you places only the locals know about!
In the Seychelles, finding small, family run properties that can cater for our groups is our hardest challenge and means we stay in larger properties on both Praslin and Mahe. However, we take care to ensure that the properties are near to local restaurants, markets and stores so you can eat and shop locally. A great way to experience the local areas and benefit the people.
As a company we have valuable and longstanding partnerships with UK charities Toilet Twinning and Send a Cow, plus many smaller initiatives and projects around the world. We’re members of the UK travel industry body AITO because we believe it’s important to share our knowledge and experience, as well as learn from other operators.
