Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your vacation will help support conservation and local people.

We understand that protecting the environment is of the utmost responsibility of every traveler and tour operator, and we therefore include thorough information of our policies online so that travelers can feel prepared and comfortable with what they can do to help. This includes but is not limited to: ensuring all electricity is switched off when not in use and limiting the use of air-conditioning when possible, always asking the hotel staff not to change bedding and towels unless necessary, limiting single use plastic and disposing of waste correctly and generally respecting the areas you explore making sure not to disrupt the natural environment.
Wildlife - Both the Amazon Jungle and Ballestas Islands have an abundance of wildlife. The Ballestas Islands are a part of the Paracas Wildlife Reserve and therefore well protected. Boat trips allow travelers to see a lot of the animals up close however humans are not allowed to step foot on the island so to not disrupt their habitat.
Culture - This tour visits 5 UNESCO World Heritage sites in Peru. This includes Machu Picchu where the entrance fees goes towards the preservation of the site. Other sites include the historic center of Lima, Nazca lines, the historic center of Cusco and Arequipa.
Transport - This trip makes good use of the local transport infrastructure. This includes an overnight tourist bus as well as other shared transport throughout the trip. During the trip to the Sacred Valley, multiple groups are often combined to avoid using too many vehicles. Local, shared transport has a much lower carbon footprint per person and is also a great way to meet and interact with locals or other travelers.
Waste - We have an in-depth environmental policy which is available for customers to read prior to travel, which highlights ways in which all of us can work towards fighting environmental issues. We actively ask customers to be aware of what they are purchasing (i.e international, imported products will naturally have a high carbon footprint) and always try to buy local.
The Impacts of this Trip
Local communities - We visit Lake Titicaca on a day trip to immerse travelers in the local way of life and allow a deeper understanding of the indigenous communities culture. The families here have preserved their way of life while opening their doors to tourists to supplement their income. We visit two islands here, where not only are travelers guided through daily life and the history of Lake Titicaca but also have the chance to purchase homemade crafts and textiles from the families here. This further supports the communities and provides wonderful souvenirs for customers who want to pick up something special.
Friends and neighbours - Having operated for over 30 years in South America, we have built wonderful and long-standing relationships with various suppliers, including guides, accommodation and restaurant owners. Our tour leaders will always provide recommendations for local restaurants and markets where the money is going into the local economy and not international brands.
Meals - This trip includes a two day excursion in the Amazon Jungle. All meals included in the Amazon are sourced locally and not imported. We work with suppliers who share the same ethos as us, and work towards providing sustainable and responsible excursions. The lunch included in Lake Titicaca is also made by the community using locally sourced food. Not only does this keep carbon emissions low but also provides the most authentic type of meal for travelers. Where meals are not included, our tour leaders advise customers where to eat and will always opt for smaller, locally owned establishments.
