Peloponnese walking tour in Greece
Description of Peloponnese walking tour in Greece
This trip can be tailor made throughout the year to suit your requirements
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetThe area of Mainalo mountain range presents a great variability of habitats offering shelter to many Greek endemic plant species. However, the most important formations are those of the forest ecosystems with Abies cephalonica (Greek fir) and Pinus nigra subsp. pallasiana (Palla’s pine), which are the thickest and best represented in the Peloponnese. Several remarkable amphibians, reptiles and mammals have been recorded in this site. (NATURA 2000, GR2520001)
During this vacation we walk through this unique ecosystem, so no disturbance is caused to flora and fauna. Few and very small duration transfers are required, with no significative effect and only in the official paved road network. As a company we do not run, we do not suggest and we do not promote any “motor-sport” activities such as 4x4 excursions, ATV-quad, motocross tours etc, in any natural ecosystem.
Our guests no need to buy water in plastic bottles, instead they can fill up their flasks with tab water from the accommodation and running water from the springs they pass by.
Our guests, will not receive any printed material from our part, as everything (vouchers, roadbooks etc.) is sent via e-mail and can be stored in their mobile devices.
This is a walking vacation and only very few and of short distance transfers are required. So, there are practically zero carbon emissions.
PeopleYou walk on a trail designed in a way that gives you the opportunity to pass as many as possible of the picturesque traditional villages of Mt. Mainalon: Stemnitsa, Dimitsana, Zygovysti, Elati, Vytina, Nymphasia, Magouliana, Valtesiniko and Lagadia. This is not just a hike in the intact nature but also a study of the tradition and human geography of the Arcadian people throughout the centuries. Passing by these villages our guests except visiting, they can have lunch or dinner in local taverns, have a stop in a local café, buy ingredients for their picnics from local grocery stores and even a souvenir.
We use small, family owned and locally run accommodations where good Greek breakfast made mainly from fresh locally produced ingredients is served. For the required transfers we work with locals.
We are an adventure & culture travel company, based in Greece, owned and run by locals that offers quality tours for our guests operating in a responsible way towards local communities and the environment.
