Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your vacation will help support conservation and local people.

Any plastic you do use on your trip, you can keep in the trip vehicle to deposit at our recycling point on the Uganda equator.
You’ll see we keep your printed trip documentation down to the essentials, all presented in your very own recycled-paper dossier which has been hand-crafted by a local community group.
We contribute $15 per person from your trip which is donated to the Banana Tree Wildlife Sanctuary that works to rescue and rehabilitate animals trapped or injured outside of the National Parks in the West of Uganda. If you are interested in this project we’d be happy to tell you more about it.
Unfortunately there’s no avoiding the use of aircraft or safari vehicles to enjoy this trip as we’ve presented it. However we do take care to design our routes to minimise both drive times for your convenience and hence reduce on fuel use and subsequent emissions.
The Impacts of this Trip
We are a Ugandan grass-roots company, the fee you pay for your trip goes entirely into the Ugandan economy and on to the all the lodges and suppliers we use, all of which are Ugandan companies/individuals as well.
Other trips will tell you they are “proud to work with a great supplier in Uganda”. We are one of those suppliers – there is no portion of your trip fee that goes towards paying office rent at a trendy location in UK, Europe or North America – it all goes to Uganda.
Tourism here is one of the largest and more consistent employers, by supporting our industry you are supporting livelihoods of families all across the country. All of our safari guides are Ugandan nationals whom we have known personally for many years.
We don’t believe in staged community visits – but if you have a special interest or wish to get a feel for local life, please let us know and we’ll endeavour to arrange it in the most authentic and non-obtrusive way possible.
With the exception of a very small number of international brands in the capital city Kampala – every restaurant you eat at, lodge you sleep in and shop that you purchase anything in is Ugandan owned. Every shilling you spend on your trip will in some way benefit the recipient.
