We operate this tour with a maximum group size of 10 travelers to minimize our impact on the culture and the environment where we visit. Using third party experts, we've carbon footprinted each of our tours and carbon neutralize our collective footprint following every tour using Cooler.

Suppliers:
We work with suppliers who are local families, often third, fourth or fifth generation Cajun or Acadian. They are important cultural guardians and part of the fabric of each location that we visit.
Our guides are also Louisiana residents and they have spent years learning about their environment and culture. They bring unparalleled passion for their land and for passing along knowledge to our clients.

We never feed wildlife on our kayaking tours and ensure that the animals are not disturbed or alerted to the presence of humans.

Accommodations:
For part of the trip we stay in locally-owned cottages that conserve energy, recycle and reduce waste. A portion of the money from this tour goes to support the local community and local programming.

People

Friends & Neighbors:
We visit small locally owned restaurants that use farm to table practices whenever possible. We partner with independent local guides and family owned lodging that conserve water and electricity, encourages sustainable practices and respect and teach about the local environment and wildlife. There are lots of chances for meaningful cultural exchange through extended small group sessions with local naturalists, musicians, chefs and culture bearers.

A Fair Deal:
There are limited tourism jobs that pay fairly in Cajun Country, so we provide our local partners with competitive pay and scheduled hours that are reliable and livable. We support families, small businesses, community centers, independent guides and local artists. We offer many chances for travelers to immersed in the culture in a personal and educational way.

Charity:
We always give back in the areas we visit, including working with local charities that support communities in need and protect the local ecosystems. We also make a donation to carbon offset each guest's trip. This money goes to support reforestation projects and other initiatives that reduce greenhouse gases.
