Planet
Babylonstoren is a working vegetable, flower and wine farm. The bug spray used on the produce is environmentally friendly and has no contamination of groundwater. The garden is grown organically and in a biologically sustainable manner. They offer a organic herb and food experience and even offer baobab yoghurt. This is considered one of the most eco-friendly farm hotels in the Winelands. They say their philosophy is to keep things as close and true to the earth as possible. The gardens also includes a beehive behind glass where you can watch bees going about their business. They have a Healing Garden where you can pick your own flowers and herbs and make these into your own tea which will help with ailments, as guided by the gardener Gundula, this is known as a healing ritual. The farm has 10 hectares of critically endangered vegetation. They are a member of the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative which means that they have to meet several conservation terms and conditions.Dulini Leadwood is known as a sustainable hospitality business within the wildlife environment. Being located within Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, they firmly believe that all guests need to leave a legacy of conservation for future generations.
Our company is a sustainable travel company. We craft sustainable African safaris that has the earth's best interest at heart. We have several legacy partners and all our tours include a donation to Greenpop which is a non-profit forest restoration and urban greening organization. The funds go towards planting of trees in either Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia or South Africa. We can also arrange a tree planting day during your stay. Our latest environment partner is Cleanhub which is dedicated to freeing the planet and our oceans from plastic pollution.
People
Dulini Leadwood - helps change many lives of the local community. The have the esiDulni Community Trust which is a non-profit organization which helps the surrounding communities. This is includes educational outreach. The have a few projects running including Project Dignity which helps as many as 4000 female learners in the 11 local villages and Dumphries Digital Learning Centre which helps 400 school-aged learners per week and helps with skills-training in the local rural area. They also have a curio shop which is dedicated to raising funds for the community as they donate 50% of all profit back to the community. They do invite all guests to do a donation.We have carefully selected all suppliers to ensure that they support the local community in the area that they operate in. We like to add cultural experiences into each itinerary so that you can connect with the local people and have first-hand knowledge of the culture of the destination that you visit with us.
