Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your vacation will help support conservation and local people.

All our tour leaders are passionate about responsible travel, so our messaging is consistent when it comes to tackling environmental issues. One key problem is littering, which our leaders address on the ground by actively educating our suppliers and locals too. Always leading by example, for instance, gathering rubbish others have left behind.
The Impacts of this Trip
Visit Croatia’s most remote island – Lastovo. The 4-hour journey is worth it to reach this secluded slice of paradise. The protected island nature park remains free from the effects of mainstream tourism and has retained its local flair. Free of the infrastructure that caters to mass tourism (and with a dwindling population for the same reason) Lastovo Island offers visitors scenes of traditional Adriatic island life as it once was. As a bonus, our sustainable tourism here supports the locals who have decided to remain. For example, you’ll visit a local winery in Lastovo Village where you’ll be treated to a tasting of their homegrown varietals before enjoying a light dinner, complete with local cheeses to accompany the wine. Traveling in a small group also allows us to stay in a family-run guesthouse for the whole trip, so that we can discover what life is really like in this part of Europe.
We travel by local ferry from Split to Lastovo Island and back, used by locals, rather than with a private charter boat. This reduces this trip’s carbon footprint.
