We can cater for vegetarian and vegan diets.
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetCycling is an environment friendly activity . Minimum transport is necessary during this trip.
Our guide has a love of the region and the mountain roads and encourages clients to make a difference in starting with their group activities: picnic lunches are bought from local producers and commerces; waste is kept to a minimum and gathered before moving on with the walks. Waste is sorted before being disposed of in the necessary recycling containers.
The guide explains about the protected area and natural parks we will pass by, and gently accompanies the group in what gestures we can all make to preserve this precious natural environment.
We learn how to travel through the region with as little impact as possible, in respect of the local roads, villages, and people living around: a particular attention will be paid on keeping the waste from gels and bars and any type of packaging during the rides. The guide will also discuss the idea to incorporate cycling in everyone day to day life for commuting , going shopping for example.
There will be not need to buy plastic water bottles as the water will be collected from the numerous villages fountains.
We hope that travelers will return home with a new awareness of climate change and its effects on these beautiful natural regions.
PeopleWe are committed to organising small group tours that have a minimal environmental impact as well as benefiting the local communities that welcome us. We work closely with our local partners and have built up a friendly relationship over the years, both in Clamensane itself and in the villages we visit nearby, where we encourage clients to visit local cafés and commerces to participate in the economic life of the area.
In particular we do spend some good valuable time with the groups talking to the food producers (local meat, cheese, veg or wines) so they can explain what living in those remote area, in an integrated economy means. It is always a time of great sharing of experience.
On this trip our groups stay at the family gite les Tilleuls in Clamensane, a small village in les Monges region. The small family-run gite is locally staffed, providing valuable employment in the tourism industry on which the region mainly depends.
Fresh produce (such as cheese and meat) is sourced locally as much as possible. Picnic lunches (cold meats, cheese, bread etc.) are sourced at locally supplied stores and evening meals are either taken at our accommodation or local, family-run restaurants.
