On this tour, we take our tourists through a one-of-a-kind landscape and we are trying to familiarize people with the history and traditions of the area. The tour by itself helps visitors gain a new appreciation for the environment and brings them closer to nature. Most of our tours are guided and our guides are all trained to instruct travelers on environmental protection. They are directly instructed not to litter, to pick up their trash behind them, smokers are instructed to use any kind of portable ashtrays for the cigarette buds, etc. The tap water in Croatia is potable and we will always remind our travelers, as well as of the fact that, instead of buying bottled water, they can refill your bottles at all times, even on the springs in nature.
From the very beginning, we are the gold sponsor of the Via Dinarica project in Croatia, and we keep promoting this mega- mountaineering and hiking trail that extends from Albania to Slovenia, connecting natural and cultural sights of the Dinarids, in a great number of our programs – an area of Gorski Kotar is a part of the „White line “of the trail.
We focus on small groups (6-8 people) as well as FIT travel, where means of transportation are reduced to one vehicle (usually minivans or even hybrid cars) and put an emphasis on slow traveling - staying at one location to prevent a lot of moving around by car and the overall carbon footprint, but spending days filled with interesting activities.
In the office, we have a lot of initiatives to increase a responsible effect on the environment. To name some of them – we do not use paper towels, we use kitchen cloths that we regularly change and wash, bring back into the office. The cleaning products we use to clean our office are made with bio-ingredients and not the industrial kind. We recycle paper and plastics, and we do not print pamphlets for our end clients. Our clients receive our offers via email and other electronic channels with the remark “be green, keep it on the screen”.
The taps and soap dispensers in our toilets are on the sensor and this is how we save the excess use of water. At the end of the day, all electricity is turned off in our offices.

People

On this tour, our travelers will meet great local guides who are born and raised in Croatia, even in the mountaineering area of Gorski Kotar. She or he will provide a lot of fun and interesting facts about the locality they are visiting. He or she will make them laugh and feel more comfortable and familiar with the destination. That person is just one of the thousands of self-employed women or men in Croatia. By taking our guided tours, our guests help them earn their monthly salary and pay for social and health insurance.
By visiting local farms and family-run crafts on this tour, everyone offers support to local farmers who rely on those small industries for a living.
Most of our pre-made itineraries already have suggestions to help our travelers build a local feel into their trip and to better understand and connect with locals.
By purchasing tickets, travelers donate small amounts of money to support small local museums maintained by local associations that seek to preserve the tradition. Through educational workshops, we encourage tourists to spend time with people involved in local social projects and become aware of the difficulties that a particular environment has to deal with.
When we create a custom-made trip, we always try to direct guests to less developed environments that have great benefits from interaction with tourists.
