This itinerary focuses on exploring by foot and limited transport through Greece. We aim to do all the activities on foot making it more friendly to the environment. We also gives maps so that you can follow a route which impacts less on the scenery and natural areas. Wherever possible, we use hand-picked eco-friendly accommodation that have their own environmentally-friendly policies and encourage their guests to behave in an environmentally-friendly manner to limit energy usage. Our accommodation in Athens is in the non tourist center which needs to be rejuvenated.

We also use hotels that have Vegetarian menus and in some cases Vegan which will directly benefit.


Visiting local places we encourage our travelers to report anything which doesn’t seem right during their trip so that we can act upon it.
Before departing on this trip, our customers will always receive an informative document called 'Be a responsible traveler', which provides useful advice on how they are able to travel in an environmentally-friendly way such as using reusable water bottles and limiting the amount of energy that they use.

We are very passionate about recycling, beginning in our Brighton office where we use a local company to ensure we all know where our waste is going, we encourage a no wastage policy, by asking staff to take leftover food home. We also have a largely ‘paperless’ office, refraining from publishing brochures and other marketing collateral, and instead of producing electronic documentation to ensure we use as little paper as possible.

People

On this trip you will stop at a Santorini where you can explore on foot the nearby hills and spend time at the geothermal springs. This will take you off the main tourist spot and allow you enjoy some off the beaten aspects. There are also some small shops that you can buy local crafts- we always try to recommend places that we have visited and that we know the money will help the local communities. We always try to give local places to visit by foot where possible or where you can use a local guide in Greece.

Wherever possible, we work with independently owned accommodation so that more of our travelers’ money stays in the local communities they are visiting. If you need a local guide for excursions we are happy to source those for you and explore like a local, benefiting the community.
