As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
PlanetOur small ships run on Marine Diesel Oil, unlike larger ships that use non refined Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) which is non-refined, polluting and highly toxic. Additionally, Regular maintenance for each ship of our fleet takes place twice a year, a practice that is extremely important in reducing fuel consumption.
Single-Use Plastic Reduction: One of our guiding principles is to positively impact the areas in which we explore. That is why we are proud to have successfully completed a single-use plastic reduction program across our entire fleet, minimizing single-use plastic items. Such items include straws, stirrers, cups, lids, bottled water, among other items, as well as items wrapped in plastic; single-portion items such as butter cups, jams or yogurts. Our goal is to completely eliminate single-use plastics on board all our vessels. Our hope is that our actions will prompt other cruise operators to do the same.
PeopleIn all our cruises we offer visits to small islands which are not often or not at all visited by large cruise ships. During the classical Greece cruise, the ship visits the ports of Kea and Hydra and docks at the fishing village of Kapsali in Kythera, a port that only yachts can reach. This is our way to add the smaller communities in the tourist map, while at the same time we do not ruin their peace due to our small capacities. Our cruise directors are familiar with the islands we are visiting, and they are always there to introduce you to the local producers and the traditional places to visit. In Kythera you can look for the local small bouquets of yellow flowers caller "sempreviva" which means live forever! In Monemvasia the land produces a beautiful "Malvasia" wine and local ladies prepare every day the famous "amygdalota", which are delicately flavored almond sweets! In Nafplion, there is a unique "worry beads" museum that a couple established, and it is the one and only worldwide! Whichever place you go, don't forget to buy some honey from the local producers. Usually on the islands it's made of thyme and it's very light and aromatic!
