Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

In 2020, the accommodation you stay at on this trip were awarded the Green Key Certificate in recognition of their hard work in reducing their environmental impact. This prestigious certificate is awarded by the Federation of Environmental Education, which particularly praised the 'wellbeing and diversity of surrounding nature' with the company works to improve. Besides spreading environmental awareness, Torassieppi seeks to reduce water usage by cleaning the rooms and changing the linens only when requested, as well as using only recycled metals, glass and plastics in their restaurants. We can also assure you your trip to the Arctic Sauna World won’t heat the planet: just your party. The electricity used throughout the building is generated by either wind, water or solar energy and a local underground spring provides the water in all the showers and taps. Waste warm water is, in turn, collected and used alongside water drawn from the lake to heat the premises.
In addition, a tree is planted for every booking.

The spirit of conservation Torassieppi Reindeer Farm fosters also extends to their in-house museum. The original reindeer farm dates back to 1847 when the land-owning family kept reindeer for transport, milk and meat production. In the manor house and in the reindeer museum you can explore the history of the reindeer farm, viewing the original equipment used in the days it was used for actual reindeer herding. Every object has its own mission and each has its own story, which the family members will happily explain.Furthermore, the upkeep of this traditional practice provides enormous financial benefits for the indigenous Sámi people. To receive the approval of the paliskunta, the owner of the reindeer must be approved as a member by a reindeer herding district and must permanently reside in the municipality to which the district belongs, ensuring outside interests cannot deprive local communities of their profits. The friendly and helpful in-house team will be happy to help you with every aspect of your stay.
