As a responsible tour operator, we pride ourselves on only working with local, independent partners who share in our passion to positively impact our local communities and environment.

On the first evening of the trip the group will visit a restaurant and brewery that only serve locally sourced food and the brewery produces some of the lowest carbon beer in the country.

For 24 hours the group venture into some of the wilder landscapes with a local guide, Monica. They will stay with the guide in her rustic bothy-style cottage. The cottage is off-grid meaning carbon emissions are very low for this element of the trip. Monica will also spend time teaching the group about the local environment and give them tips on how to live in more harmony with nature.

Guests are provided with re-usable water bottles at the start of the trip to reduce the need for guests to purchase single use plastics during the trip.

People

We believe strongly in supporting the local communities of the places our guests visit. On a multi-activity adventure such as this one, we have the opportunity to provide work opportunities for local activity instructors and companies in a number of different areas. This helps provide more opportunity to people in the outdoor industry.

We keep our group numbers small. This trip will only run with a maximum of 12 guests, this means we are reducing our chances of contributing to over-tourism, which can negatively affect local communities. We also believe keeping the numbers small makes it a more positive experience for our guests too, as they have more opportunity to develop friendships with the other members of the group and receive more personalised instruction from our fantastic guides.

We encourage guests to use locally owned businesses such as village shops, as we know how much rural businesses rely on this sort of trade.
