The wildlife, nature and the stunning diverse scenery.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Pack well! Bring good hiking/walking boots, lightweight quick drying clothes and repellent for mountain/forest activities.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, our whole trip was extremely educational and we feel it has helped us as a family understand more about what we can do to protect our environment. Everywhere we went all staff including guides, hotel staff, drivers etc were all locals. They were all extremely proud of their country and what it has to offer people. They were keen to tell us how they protect the environment they all live in and what measures they take to ensure that their environment is protected. They respect nature and all that it has to offer us. All trips were sensitively done, keeping our impact to the surroundings to a minimum.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Fantastic! A truly memorable vacation for all the family. Our children aged 11 and 14 said it was like walking through a zoo except it was a million times better as all the animals were free in their own natural habitat. Costa Rica is beautiful, there is such variation in the landscape from rain forests to volcanic mountains to cloud forests. The range of activities which we did were great. All were expertly organised, totally safe with top class guides who were extremely passionate about their country. Only one discontent disappointment was the beach resort which we went to at the end of the vacation Tamarindo. It was extremely disappointing, it was everything that the rest of Costa Rica wasn't, full of traffic, tacky shops and restaurants and it lacked character and charm. Overall though we would highly recommend Costa Rica to anyone, particularly if you enjoy nature and wildlife. A super family destination.Holiday Reviews
