1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Friendships we made with other tourists and our guides and staff. Learning about both the land and marine animals, and seeing them up close, in the wild. We feel very strongly that seeing the Galapagos in a small ship (especially this small ship) is the best way to see the islands.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Do not count on using credit cards. In Ecuador, whose currency is the dollar, cash is king. Bring more cash than you think you’ll need. Bring mostly $20’s, as small shops cannot change $100’s. In small shops on the mainland and the islands, ATM machines are not common. “Wet exits” are common when landing. Plan on having shoes that can get wet and stay wet. The trails can be very rocky. Water shoes are great for landings, but not for walking the rocky trails. Once you wear shoes off the boat, they cannot be worn on the boat (to protect the floors). Obviously, bring a camera that is better than a cell phone. For most of us, this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip.3. Absolutely. The amazing staff on the boat were from the Galapagos. The boats’ owners were residents of the islands. The rules require that guides reside on the islands. Most have grown up there.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Outstanding! Tour operator staff and guides are amazing. The company is probably the best organized and best staffed travel company that we have experienced. This trip is worthy of being in your “bucket list”.JAMES WOLFORD review 26 Feb 2023

Yes, they emphasize eco friendly practices, convey a concern for the environment, and encourage shopping on the islands.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Choose a boat that fits your activity levels - I am very active but I appreciate not everyone is! Also beware if you do get seasick - a smaller boat will be a challenge3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
