1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The most memorable moment has to be the Tigers Nest Monastery outside Paro - lovely climb through the trees, then such a beautiful set of temples. Makes the trip to Bhutan worthwhile just by itself.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

There are only a few ways to travel to Bhutan - we went via Kathmandu. Make sure that you leave leeway for travel problems if you go this route. Our flight from Paro to Kathmandu took 5 hours rather than 1 due to traffic congestion resulting in diversion back to Paro then on via Delhi. Also our flight home was delayed meaning we missed a connection in Muscat. Don't let this put you off but be aware. At first glance Bhutan may seem expensive but it's not really when you consider how much is included in the daily tariff. It turns out to be good value. Some of the ATMs and card readers read the magnetic strip on your card rather than the chip. This can trigger blocking of the card by your bank. Make sure that you are contactable so that the card can be unblocked.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes - guide and driver were locals. Hotels (as far as we can tell) were locally owned rather than international chains. So the money we spent stays in the country.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

A beautiful relaxing country to visit. Scenery and sights are fantastic. Our driver and guide were top class. No complaints whatsoever.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Climbing up to Tiger's Nest Monastery and enjoying the views back down!

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

It's worthwhile working up your fitness - you have the opportunity to enjoy some great walks!

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

In terms of income to the firm and government from the travel, then yes.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Bhutan is a wonderful country to visit although clearly more expensive than its neighbour's due to the government's pricing policy. That said, it is generally much cleaner than other countries nearby and there is less hassle. One or two of the hotels were slightly disappointing for the price paid but that doesn't detract from the fabulous views and memories from this vacation.
