1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Just cycling - wonderful! Roads very free of traffic, delightful lanes and villages, gorgeous wild flowers everywhere, great service from the operator, and a superb bike.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Go in late Spring. Be prepared for hills.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Probably - I guess local services like accommodation benefit the locals.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Really loved it. Love the self guided aspect - notes and maps provided were excellent. Lots of time to explore. My one comment is: maybe a rest day in the middle of the 8 days would be an excellent idea!Charlotte Schwartzentruber review 16 Jun 2018
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Loved the entire trip! The book with the maps was extremely well organized (thanks Luka) and made navigation easy. Hotels were clean, staff friendly and helpful and beds were comfortable. Especially enjoyed the hotels in Labin and Buzet.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Since we were on bicycles we definitely reduced the environmental impact of our travel. Since we were traveling though small communities and stopped for nourishment along the way we supported the local economy.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Loved it and would recommend others to cycle with this operator.Margit Matthews review 7 Aug 2016
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Probably the most memorable day was arriving at our hotel in Buzet at the end of the second day. After a steep cycle up a winding hill to a hill top medieval town, we arrived at our charming picture postcard hotel. The use of the spa was included in the price which was very welcome.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
A decent level of fitness is required as there is quite a bit of climbing involved, which are obviously rewarded by some nice long downhills. We did the cycle at the beginning of August which is peak season here. There were so many foreign cars on the sections of main roads that we went on, so we can imagine that out with peak seasons the roads would be a lot quieter.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Obviously as we were cycling, our environmental impact was reduced. The tour company used some small local hotels which was good. We also stayed in a couple of larger hotels which did not feel in keeping with the theme and I don't feel benefited small local business communities.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Great vacation. Just our cup of tea. No need to worry about how to occupy your days, as each morning you just get on your bike and go. We saw many little towns and villages that were off the beaten track. Stopping for coffee breaks in a little hill top town is so much more rewarding when you have cycled there.Holiday Reviews
