1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
THe sight of wonderful old towns across the water all down the coast of the Istrian Peninsula. Also, eating at the top of a 15th century tower in Porec2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
The guide books are excellent. Make sure you have options in there for longer routes if they are mentioned. We also picked up some local cycle route maps in areas we stayed for some extra adventures. Try the local food -especially eggs in truffle oil for breakfast. Our trip started in Trieste and we were offered a lift with the bikes out of town to start there. We valiantly refused as it felt like cheating....in hindsight it would have been a better idea as getting out of Trieste was the least favourite part of our cycling. Do take a trip down to the fjord between Porec and Rovinj. It's well worth the 4km climb back up and puts in to context one of the prehistoric abandoned towns passed the day before. Plus they do the most amazing chocolate cake at the café at the bottom!3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We got to cycle through local villages and where possible stopped to buy. Some of the route stops over in areas that are usual tourist haunts - but we were there out of season, so we felt that benefitted the local community. Cycling around is obviously good for the environment.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
I would recommend this vacation to everyone. The roads were mainly very easy going with not too much on busy ones. In towns there are always cycle paths. We found, compared to other cycling vacations, we clocked up miles very easily -which is great for seeing round the new place when you arrive each day.Ioanna Vassiliou review 2 Aug 2016
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Beautiful view all over the route and good explanation notes. All the accommodation chosen where very good. Especial the Parenzana Hotel in Buje was so nice and friendly people and their restaurant was fantastic.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
To be prepare for real mountain biking experience and many kilometers.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Absolutely.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
We choose Easy to Moderate but we found it a bit more difficult than easy to moderate cycling tours we ve ever been before and we ve been to more than 5 so far. Of course the weather was too hot too and it made it even more difficult but still km where too much. Too many km everyday with uphills. All the accommodation chosen where very good. Especially the Parenzana Hotel in Buje was so nice and staff were such friendly people. We should not forget to mention that their restaurant was fantastic too. The explanation notes and the map given to us where up to the point. Amazing!!! Never exprerienced such an accurancy before. Our Congrats to the organisers. The operator was very helpful and they have even picked us up from the airport.Holiday Reviews
