1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

All was memorable.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Take warm clothing and good footwear. I wore my comfortable boots nearly all the time. Be reasonably fit to enjoy things more

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes. I didn’t go on the super jeep tour and I did wonder how ‘green’ these vehicles were!!?

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Very good. We were very fortunate for most of the time the weather was favourable. The change of timetable due to the weather was well handled. Need to be aware that the captain has to take decisions to change ports if the weather is inclement.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Learning so much more about Iceland and seeing the amazing landscape, flora & fauna.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Make sure you have warm gear and water proof outer clothes. Study the boat route & get to know the sights you want to see before you leave. Sign up for as many excersions as you can. Non of the walks were very strenuous but it makes them more enjoyable if you are relatively healthy.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

I don’t know how much impact a ship would have on the local environment. I did notice there was not much rubbish around anywhere and all the ship travelers were careful to take back what they bought into the environment. The locals all seemed very knowledgeable about all facts about Iceland. We enjoyed interacting with them & they seemed to enjoy our presence

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

We really enjoyed the boat trip and all the many excursions we went on. We were sad when the trip finished.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The landscape of Iceland

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Be prepared for expensive.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Somewhat - there was much talk in the smaller communities about how Reykjavik sucks up all the countries tourist income.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

The circumnavigation cruise of Iceland had both strong and weak points. Off shore excursions were expensive and not always well put together - as well, the guides were native German speakers who spoke English as a second language. It was such that the lessees of the ship and and owners had hired a German consultant to travel with the group and get feedback for improvement.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The realization of how the Icelandic people persevered in such difficult environment and still could remain optimistic about the future. To live and flourish in such continuous danger is commendable and inspiring. Of course, the scenery were exceptional even after visited Death Valley, the Yellowstone National Park and the Canadian Rockies where there are some familiar environments. We were glad to be able to see the Northern Lights. and toured Iceland while it is still in a less commercialized setting.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Prepare for the sudden changes in temperature and weather in Iceland. Prepare also for the sticker shocks of the food prices and smaller accommodations. Prepare to observe and enjoy the mother nature's master pieces.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

I do think that tourists like us help out with the economy of the local people. With the increase in tourism, I would think that there would be an increase in the environmental impacts and less conservation as the needs of hotels, food consumption and transports increase. Comparing to areas outside of the Golden Triangle and the Blue Lagoon where there are just too many people at any given time, the other regions, so far, are less impacted by the increase in tourism. I do have my doubt that the increase in tourist population would be limited to the Golden Triangle for long.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

It was a great experience for us and a place that we would not forget.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The geology, birdlife and culture of Iceland

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Expect the weather to be cool or cold even in June and be prepared for rain Do some pre-reading about Iceland before going

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

In terms of the ship using local food producers and local guides, and time to go to museums not included in the itinerary. However on board I felt more could have been done to encourage re-cycling and the constant supply of clean towels and bedlinen I thought was probably unnecessary. Bottled water was supplied for packed lunches but I wondered if just taking a personal water bottle and using the excellent fresh water on board would have been a "greener" option.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

It was very good and pretty much what I expected and hoped for.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

See the midnight sun. The quality of that light! Seeing the sun going from W to N and to East above the horizon

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Check well your excursions on shore before reserving. Plan well ahead cause cabins in the 3rd and 4th floor sell quickly!

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes and no. Yes, cause the water use was low in the toilets (vacuumed). Yes because at every stop there is a chance to eat on the place and buy stuff or visit attractions. I would reduce the carton use in the lunch boxes and encourage people to reuse those nasty plastic water bottles (we used only a pair in the whole trip).

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

I loved it, I rested, I got excellent service. Only criticism: the cost of shore excursions. Quality/price of the horse (too short for good riders) and superjeep tour that was not adventurous at all.
