1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

It is hard to pick out one thing but it would include staying in the jungle in a treehouse, visiting some amazing temples, eating street food in an evening market before catching the sleeper train, treking in the jungles, canoeing down the river Kwai and the awesome beach on Koh Lanta.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Take lots of Deet and diahorra tablets and travel as light as you can. Book an extra day at the beach at the end because you will need a good rest before the long flight home (and the beach is amazing).

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

We ate at locally owned places. All trips were run by people from the local area and employed local people.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

We are a family with two sons aged 17 and 14. We were all entertained all of the time. A great mix of culture, lots of activities and relaxation. We were never bored. Our guide Aor was fun, informative and made our trip a very relaxed one.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

So many wonderful memories. The day trip in Bangkok was fantastic, boat trip on the lily and lotus covered lake at Thale Noi Bird Sanctuary beautiful, and meeting the elders at the Sakai settlement was both fascinating and humbling. My teenage children would say that the night train experience, canoeing at Ban Chao Mai National Park and swimming through the Emerald Cave were the most memorable bits.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Bring a waterproof camera for the caves and canoeing! Don't worry about your tummies - my children drank smoothies at all the restaurants and didn't have any problems. The food everywhere was fantastic!

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Most definitely. It was lovely seeing our guide using local guides and helpers on our adventures.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

As our first vacation in Asia it was fantastic. Our guide was so friendly and helpful we really didn't have to do anything but have a great time! We experienced a bit of Thai culture and history, some exciting adventures and had a relaxing time at the beach! Wonderful food all the time. Wonderful vacation.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The three days trekking in Nan province was certainly the most memorable part of our vacation. Highlights included the market across the street from the hotel selling a wide range of "interesting" live produce, my daughter finding a scorpion in her bed whilst staying in a bamboo hut one night, and the "swimming" trip down the river after our raft decided it wanted to tip over. The degree of difficulty of the walks/activities was pitched at just the right level . We certainly finished up each day tired and a bit footsore - but also with a real sense of achievement.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Firstly - do give this type of vacation a go. I was a bit concerned before traveling that some members of the family might find some of the activities a bit too difficult, or the accommodation a bit too basic. However the company had clearly done a lot of work to make sure that this vacation had just the right mix of activity and excitement in order to make this a family adventure that the whole family could enjoy. Secondly pack lightly - we all came away with more clothes than we originally brought - having spent most of the vacation wearing clothes that we bought on our first two days in Bangkok. Thirdly - Buy a spare memory card for your camera at the start of your vacation in Bangkok - and then plan to bore your friends to death with all of your photos when you get home - we did.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes, particulary when we travelled to some of the more off the beaten track places.

4. Any other comments?

Many thanks for the "Responsible Travel" website and service - we have recomended you to many of our friends and I am busy looking through your pages looking for a similar vacation for next year.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The first night in Bangkok! Also the jungle walk, days snorkelling at the beach, some of the kayaking - it was all terrific. We are four- a seven year old, a 16 year old, my wife and me. Trying to find a vacation that suits everyone is always hard - this vacation did that and more!

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Bring clothes you don't mind getting dirty. There won't be many posh nights out! If you're going in the rainy season - just remember it may rain all day long, for days! It happened to us!

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes - the choice of small, local hotels was great. We ended up in Krabi and I realised that this wasn't the real Thailand... we'd seen that!

4. Any other comments?

I though this operator were superb to deal with. Their local guide Joe Desmoulins could not have been better - and nicer to us and out kids. A gem of a company and a gem of a guide!
