1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The beautiful and varied landscapes of Andros and Tinos were memorable. So many interesting features such as the dovecotes, marble carvings, windmills and terracing. I liked that the walks were so varied.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Walking poles are really useful for the rocky terrain.Take a packable travel towel and swimwear too for the beach swims during the walks.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes as we ate in local restaurants and stayed in locally owned hotels.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

A lovely group and great walks. I would have liked the guide to have been a little more proactive in telling us what was happening next. Also the final section of the lighthouse walk was on narrow steep paths across exposed slopes which was difficult for me as i experience vertigo. I think that this should have been made clear in advance of the vacation and on the day by the guide. I would have avoided that section if I'd known.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The little bistros we stopped at for lunch…quiet, friendly and everything homegrown and homemade.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Comfy walking clothes & boots. Walking poles if you normally use. Suncream.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

The vacation absolutely benefited local people which was the charm of the vacation for me.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Absolutely fabulous! I literally loved every minute. Although we didn’t know each other initially, our group really bonded and I was truly sad to say goodbye. Annie, our guide, was faultless - attentive, thoughtful, reliable, fun and always wearing a smile. The whole experience was so excellent that I’m hoping to go again (with the lovely Annie) in September.I just need to swing it past the husband!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The contrasts between the different islands in terms of landscapes, settlements and even food was something very unexpected that made this a memorable trip. Although the water was cool in April, swimming during a walk was very refreshing. Being in Greece for the Orthodox Easter was an added bonus. The local celebrations, which featured fireworks, were loud, colorful and great fun to observe.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

If you can, fly into an island as rough seas can make a long ferry journey most unpleasant.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, all of the hotels were locally run and the very good restaurants recommended by the guides were run by locals too. This gave you the feeling that you were helping the local economy by using these and other services such as taxis and buses. It was also a wonderful way to sample the varied local cuisine.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

This is and excellent walking tour. The guides are welcoming, know the islands and very friendly. The accommodations are all comfortable, with great breakfasts. Walking the beautiful trails and swimming in the turquoise sea with wonderful fellow travelers was a fantastic experience. There is so much to see in these beautiful islands that I feel sure I will be back to see other islands by booking walking tours.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The evening walk to the fortress at Exomvourgo on Tinos with views of the surrounding villages and the sun setting across the sea. Also the walk to visit the monastery on Andros, meeting the monks and eating lunch prepared by the abbott was very special. The profusion of wild flowers on the old stone paths, the landscape of stone walls and terraces.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Go in May- warm enough to swim, not too hot for walking. Feeling of places getting geared up for the summer but not yet busy.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes. We stayed in family owned hotels, ate in small restaurants and tavernas.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Wonderful, exceeded my expectations. The local guides were superb, every day was well planned and varied, we did a huge amount in one week, but the pace was relaxed with time to appreciate everything.
