Reviews for Botswana lodge safari

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The wildlife viewing, which was absolutely stunning, especially in Moremi. Showering in the bush under the stars in the Okavango, with elephants just metres away.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
This safari is Africa in the raw. If you want to experience the bush and wildlife this vacation delivers. Be prepared for a few long drives though and take note of the guides advice around water and currency. Botswana ATMs were fine but its dollars cash in Vic Falls generally. Credit cards can be used but they don't always connect so have cash backup. It was hot and dusty when we were there in September and clothes washing is limited so pack carefully.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
It clearly provides employment for the mokoro people who look after you in the delta. All the lodges appeared to be staffed by local people and the the tour uses local guides for the wildlife viewing who are extremely knowledgeable.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Excellent if you want to get out in the bush and don't mind a few rough edges to achieve that.Nicolas Ward review 22 Jul 2018
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Seeing African Wild dogs for the first time, as it completed my personal 'Big Five' of Predators. Many other memorable moments, too many to mention.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Expect very varied accommodation, from tent to 3* hotel. Go with the flow and enjoy. However, be careful in Victoria Falls (the town!) some of the street vendors are effectively beggars and difficult to shake off. If possible don't walk around alone even in daytime and especially around the bridge area where tourists congregate near the bungee jump. Just because it's Africa, don't expect it to be hot all the time! In winter (UK summer) early starts in particular very cold. Take lots of layers including something windproof for open vehicles.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Local people were employed in some jobs, Camping and tented lodges were low impact.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Generally well designed itinerary and well run tour. Only complaint was that final day and a half at Vic Falls were pretty much a waste of time on a wildlife tour.Holiday Reviews
