The whole adventure was fantastic, from start to finish2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Go prepared for heat and humidity, take long sleeves for the walks in the national parks as the mosquitoes are very hungry! Take your own water filtering bottle to reduce the amount of single use plastic bottles you could get through3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We ate in 'local' cafes in small towns, we visited several national parks and the charges to go in and fees to the local rangers were included in our trip costs, including an orangutan sanctuary. We visited a 'longhouse' community and gave them a donation. We filtered tap water to avoid using the plastic bottles of water left for us in hotel rooms.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Be prepared to go without Wi-Fi. Expect high humidity and rain, either by relaxing with getting wet (it's warm) or breathable waterproofs.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Only in entertaining them as we cycled through their villages (they were very friendly and laughed a lot).4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

There were so many highlights. However our encounters with the local flora & fauna; orangutans, proboscis monkeys, macaque monkey, array of frogs, and pitcher plants were amazing.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
The accomodation ranges from rustic to above average so be prepared. The rustic accommmodation could have been better maintained (a government / national park issue rather than a Paradesa issue) to improve the overall experience. However it was in a lovely natural environment. Bring towels with you as they are not always provided.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
On the whole yes. The operator and the team always tried to minimise any impact; e.g no single use plastic; bulk water supply, taking responsibility to take all rubbish with us rather than leaving for the locals to deal with. We ate from local restaurants and on one occasion in one of the guide's relative's home which was a enlightening experience. Staying at national parks, some better maintained than others, also supported the local communities4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
The team did everything to adjust the vacation to meet our requests. The bikes were well maintained, routes and transportation well thought out, with an excellent range of activities. They were genuinely friendly and responsive and really added to the overall experience. As it was our 40th wedding anniversary they arranged a cake and a lovely celebration making it a truly memorable experience for us. JC is working hard to communicate an ecofriendly tourism proposition to both clients and locals and should be commended.
