1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Seeing the huge range of animals and birds in their natural setting. The tour operator organised very good safaris which were enhanced by our guide (driver) as his bird knowledge was outstanding. The other amazing experience was walking towards the village Heeloya, a rural, remote village situated in the Knuckles Mountain range. Despite the rain (and leeches) we thoroughly enjoyed walking alongside the paddy fields and after the walk we had an incredible lunch made by a family.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
I would say be prepared for the time it takes to travel anywhere. The roads are mostly good but in some rural areas they can be quite poor.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, definitely. Some hotels are owned by local people, providing work for local people. Most hotels used glass bottles instead of plastic. The conservation generally in Sri Lanka is impressive.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
I would put our vacation in the excellent category despite it raining nearly every day. The thought and care for our overall itinerary was impressive.Holiday Reviews
