1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
When I discovered I was the only participant in the tour? It was weird and I was not too excited about being the only one with the guide, but I am very grateful that I was allowed to do the tour even though they didn't get anyone else for my departure date.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Wear long sleeves as the mosquitoes are very aggressive. Also at Machu Picchu we had delays with the shuttle buses that were quite stressful as we had a tight schedule with a train back to Cusco that same afternoon. The delay we experienced was probably exceptional, but if the visit start time is not in the morning as advertised on the website, I would push to get full information about the train time and check that there would be at least 5 hours between the scheduled start of the Machu Picchu visit and the train departure.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes: the guide was local and it seems all activities (for example rafting, ziplining) were organized by local companies.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
The trip was fun. The guide was great. Overall I really enjoyed my vacation and I am grateful I was allowed to do it despite being the only participant. But Machu Picchu was the highlight of the trip and I wasn't able to fully enjoy it as we had to run through it and I was stressed that I may not be able to get back in time for the train departure.Read the operator's response here:
Thank you for taking the time to provide thoughtful feedback on your recent trip. We really value your insights and are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your adventure with our local team. While one person trips are rare, we appreciate your understanding and are happy to hear that you had such a good experience. Regarding the shuttle bus delays at Machu Picchu, we completely understand your frustration. Recently, there was an unfortunate accident involving one of the buses, which led to a temporary reduction in the number of operating shuttles. This caused some unanticipated delays. We’re sorry this impacted your time at such a key highlight of the trip. We appreciate your patience, and we’ll certainly look into better communicating the schedule to ensure smoother experiences for future travelers--especially in those exceptional circumstances. We’re grateful for your support and appreciate your helpful tips for other travelers. We would love to welcome you on another adventure with us. Thank you again, Claire, and we hope to see you on another trip soon!
