I can’t single out a particular part as I loved it all. The walking was varied, fabulous coast, woodland and flower meadows.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
If you’re interested in wild flowers, that we saw in abundance, go in Spring. Our trip started on 13/5 and the walk on Mount Felen was stunning.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Our guide Nebil was delightful - and made the trip so special. We swam, walked in varied and beautiful locations and landscapes - mountains and the coast and had a chance to meet local people. It was a great with an wonderful bunch of people too!2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
This is an excellent alternative to the Lycian way. It's am easier walking tour but still with challenging sections. Most days included the opportunity to swim and we arrived back at our hotel at around 5pm.3. Yes it did. A local Shepard family made lunch for us on one walk and on our last night we were hosted by a local Kas family and local guide.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Take enough cash to last at least the first three days, plus for tips, as some of the places you eat are quite remote, and also the cashpoint machines generally charge 10% commission.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes. We ate lunch in remote villages and had a home stay on of the nights. We also used local transport4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
The vacation was fantastic. We covered about 90 km in 6 days, some of it was steep up or down, but the pace was good with plenty of water or food stops, so if you've got a reasonable level of fitness this is a great walking vacation along the Turkish coast.Barbara Hayers review 12 Apr 2026

Lycian Way was a beautiful and challenging walk ,loads of wild flowers and the scenery was amazing in April.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
You will need water proof and strong boots two water bottles, and a good waterproof jacket just in case.It is still cold in April even if the sun is out only gets to about 18° so take warm jacket.3. Yes we had pancakes for lunch in village cooked by local lady also home made soap and Honey you can buy as you pass their house.we would buy freshly made pomegranate juice and the places we stayed were family run local mostly.so yes alot of our money was going to people in Villages we stayed or passed though.4. Great scenery and walks; Alper the guide was excellent. The group were fantastic and we all got on really well with each other. The boat trip and swim in the sea on the last day was a bonus.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
The walks were classed as moderate and judging by other walking vacations I've done I'd say that was accurate. Nevertheless a reasonable level of fitness is required, especially if it's hot. Strong and worn-in walking shoes/boots are a must as some of the paths are loose shale and rocks. Also don't forget your poles, these are essential.3. Local restaurants were used and the village house we stayed in for a one night was locally owned.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

A clear highlight was seeing the ancient city of Patara, with barely any other tourists there, and the boat ride at the end of the trip which felt like such a big reward for completing the hike!2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Don't underestimate the difficulty of this hike. It was difficult terrain in the ascents and descents, and rather challenging in the heat. It's absolutely manageable for experienced hikers though.3. Yes, supporting the small local guest houses and restaurants felt like we were able to make an impact on the local communities. Overall it felt like a good way to minimise our ecological footprint, whilst exploring this fantastic part of the world.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Yes - we supported small growers by buying drinks etc along the way and stayed one night in a small village house. Most of the trip was walking so there wasn’t much vehicle use involved.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

The hiking in spectacular scenery in unspoilt areas. The local people were so lovely. Friendly, trusting, helpful and honest. Stopping to eat and drink at very local family run places. Staying in rural, unspoilt villages etc.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Yes definitely. We stayed in locally run places and stopped to eat and drink in trackside establishments. Eating their local dishes etc. buying their home made goods.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Hiking all day through the beautiful landscapes of this part of Turkey, and experiencing the archaeology and nature on foot and at a slow pace. We visited remote villages with ancient ruins mixed in with farm houses, well off the tourist trail. The boat trip, swimming and barbecue on the second last day was a highlight.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Don't expect luxury accommodation. Overnights are basic to average, but compensated by the warm welcome of the Turkish hosts, particularly on the night in the village house. The terrain was often rough and rocky - good boots and hiking poles (if you use them) are essential. Expect at least the possibility of rain and bring appropriate layers.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Most of the time we were in rather remote areas, where few tourists would ever go. Therefore those restaurants, guest houses, shops benefited from our group of travelers. Some of the food we ate was grown directly by our hosts - gaot's milk products, honey, eggs, vegetables.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
The vacation was excellent, and fulfilled all our expectations. Our guide Zeynep was friendly, attentive, full of information and great fun. She set a comfortable pace and made sure that nobody was over-taxed by the walking. She went out of her way to accommodate special dietary needs. We really got out into the countryside and at times you'd feel like the only tourists on the Lycian way. The scenery was just beautiful, weather was very hot, a little cooler in the mountains but very hot and humid when down along the coast.2. From the moment we met the whole trip was amazing. We got real insight into how Turkish people live in the villages as well as time on the coast. The final day on the boat was the icing on the cake. The trip was great value for money and the food was excellent. Our guide Zenyep was highly organised, fun and made the trip so memorable...she even taught us some Turkish. I would highly recommend this trip. Some of the walks were challenging so needed a good level of fitness but the scenery blew us away. The food, from local families at the homestays, from the street providers in the small towns we walked to/through, and from the restaurants/cafes in the larger towns like Kas and Patara. The food experience was matched, (and probably enhanced) by some spectacular walking, and an introduction to the Lycian civilization and their legacies. A vibrant and enthusiastic guide and a great group of like minded walkers also added to the overall experience.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Some of the walking is tough (and hot) so come prepared with the appropriate walking gear, - the rewards far outweigh the efforts though. Pack an open mind and indulge in as many aspects of the Turkish culture that you can.3. Local guides and transport were used and accommodation and meals were provided by local families or locally run businesses4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
