1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The first view of Registan square in Samarcanda in the evening was incredibly memorable but the most exciting part was the opportunity to see a Buzkashi game on our last day.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Read up about the history of the county before traveling, it will help so that it all makes sense when you see the sites and if traveling in autumn / winter make sure to pack warm clothes as the temperature drops quickly once the sun goes down. Be aware meals for vegetarians will not be particularly avaiable in the more rural areas (mostly salads and bread).3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
The guides, drivers and hosts in the homestays were all local and it made the guided tours that bit more personal and I hope benefitted the local economy as a whole.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Climbing the Islam Khodja minaret (not for the faint of heart) and being rewarded with the most spectacular view over Khiva. Not too bad for my first day!2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Learn some pleasantries in Uzbek/Russian: few people speak English, and this is a great way to connect.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes: I only purchased items at locally-run/owned places and all of the accommodations were also locally operated. Additionally, I can speak some Russian so I was able to have (basic) conversations with local people, who were surprised and delighted to have a solo British guest. Such good people.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
10/10: an intriguing country, warm people, delicious food and an abundance of fascinating architecture. I plan to return. Carefully study with interest the places where the tour company proposes to take. Not leave entirely with the tour company. They should tell the tour company NOT to select restaurant and meal for them. Let the tour company give client a budget for meal and let them chose their meal with in that budget, if any excess shall be paid the client. Trip to Aydarkol Lake was NO good Instead should include Aural Sea.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Not at all happy with selection of guide. He is an excellent,pleasant, sincere, honest and hardworking person. But lack experience and knowledge, 20 years of age just started as guide. You can not expect more. He has done his best under the circumstances. We were very happy with him but NOT with the operator. They should give us aged and experienced guide and NOT just a beginner.
