1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Traveling over the mountainous road of Northern Laos and visiting the Plain of Jars around Phonsavan.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Don’t be afraid of eating at the most basic roadside stalls - the food seemed equally good to fancier restaurants. And because the locals only use bottled water themselves, you can generally expect washed salads and ice-cubes to be ‘safe’.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
To the extent that we were spending money in the local community then, yes. This was especially true in the Nam Et-Phoey National Park where tourist fees went directly into the National Park and into the local community.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Excellent - we thoroughly enjoyed the variety of things to see and do, learning about the culture and enjoying the wonderful food and Beer Lao!Caroline Young review 12 Mar 2024
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
It was all brilliant. The agents at the operator did a fabulous job from ensuring a suitable person met us at all train stations / airports to picking the most fabulous hotels. We felt well looked after and therefore in a great frame of mind to go out exploring.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Don’t have arranged excursions for every day - you will be exhausted. We only had 4 guide led days in our 22 day vacation’ they were all worthwhile and fascinating and diverse but if you had that everyday it would be too much. The food is fantastic , we separately organised a food tour in Hoi An and a cookery class in Luang Prabang - both were brilliant.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, we stayed in local hotels not American conglomerates, we visited local villages, places and bought gifts, food etc. Tourism is vital to these areas and several times we were told that the level of tourists had not yet recovered after Covid.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
