1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Visiting the monarch butterflies with just our group and no one else. Hearing our guide talk about the spiritual ancestral significance of the butterflies and experiencing it all together2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
We were told to pack for the cold but this was relative to Mexico! Layers was the key and you didn’t really need hiking boots, trainers were fine and most people wore them.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We could really see where are money was going with the tour with the local guide and the conservation area for the butterflies. It is carefully managed by the local I dig families and this was all explained to us. We were also told where to best buy souvenirs to help local people. The hotel filtered its own water so no plastic bottles which was great so the choices were obviously well thought out.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

We went to two reserves, the second, which was the best and most spectacular butterfly viewing, was quite a hike - rigorous- so people with joint or health issues should be warned .3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Hard earned butterflies. Strenuous to get to them but well worth the effort.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Ate at local restaurants, used horses belonging to local people and led by local people, local beautiful hotel.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Seeing the overwintering monarchs in person. It felt a lot like visiting in the Grand Canyon. I knew the canyon would be big, but I was wholly unprepared for how massive it was. Likewise, I knew that I would be seeing a huge number of monarch butterflies, but I still was not ready for how it would feel to see millions all in one place.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Be prepared to walk at high elevations to see the monarchs. Also, make sure you have cash as tipping is an important part of the local culture.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, the money spent on this trip clearly went to local people and organizations.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
