1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Vietnam is a country that blends history, culture and natural beauty in a way that leaves a lasting impression. Our recent trip traveling from North to South taking in, to name but a few, Ho Chi Minh City which showed energy and modern life, Hue the Imperial City which felt like stepping back in time with its ancient walls and temples, Hoi An with its vibrant markets, lanterns and timeless charm, to Mui Ne with its beautiful beaches and amazing sand dunes. All the scooters & negotiating the roads is also very memorable!2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Take cash / your own currency with you. All the currency exchanges prefer that. ATMs charge 5% regardless of your fees back home so no avoiding them! Cash is still preferred rather than card payment. The trip is full on, so if you can extend for a few days of R&R on the beach then do it. I don't recommend tagging on Cambodia / Angar Wat as this would not do it justice and be far too rushed. My main tip to other travelers thinking of going is GO GO GO ; it was absolutely memorable in every way.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes definitely. The tour took us to visit many local people with their array of goods they had created. Purchasing some of these we felt they could benefit from us visiting the area and we were happy to give something back to them. All the guides were Vietnamese, we ate in local restaurants and stayed in some family run hotels.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
There were so many highlights but if I had to narrow it down it would be visiting the Pu Luong national Park where we cycled and trekked through the vast paddy fields, the Paradise Caves at Quang Binh with the underground hike amid the stalactites and stalagmites, and the Citadel at Hue a large walled complex that was the seat of the Nguyen Dynasty with its many temples, palaces and gardens. I haven't mentioned the food - its wonderful and very moreish - AND plenty of it! I would rate this trip most definitely with 5 stars and my tip to other travelers thinking of going is GO GO GO as it was absolutely memorable in every way.Holiday Reviews
