1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The two day millennium trek through the villages above Pokhara. The shamanic ritual and the cultural evening of music and dancing was a real joy. We also loved Purna yoga retreat, a beautiful place. We would highly recommend to anyone who is interested in understanding more about yoga and deepening their practice in a friendly and informal way.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Make sure you have lots of small Nepalese notes and ask your guide to help you with tipping appropriately. Expect the accommodation to be very basic and bring your own soap,warm socks, and an eyeshade as not all rooms have curtains. Most importantly, be friendly and open minded.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
It’s certainly benefited local people, as well as giving us a far greater appreciation of life in Nepal. I don’t think we personally assisted in reducing environmental impacts, although we did record a short video with our guide about the need to pick up litter while walking to keep the country clean.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
We loved it, it was a fascinating insight into Nepalese life and combined sightseeing in the big cities with more intimate encounters in the villages. It’s not a vacation for those who love luxury, the traveling is quite challenging and the rooms can be very cold at night. But for those who want more than a trek and would like to have a more personal understanding of Nepalese life we would highly recommend it.Holiday Reviews
