1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Going to the camel market in Buraydah in the early morning and seeing hundreds of camels being auctioned, seeing the camels being lifted by crane from the lorries on to the ground, and seeing all the local gentlemen in their thobes and shemaghs alongside their camels.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
In January it was cold. Summer clothes not required. Long sleeves and long wide trousers and preferably an abaya for ladies. We did not need head coverings at all. Be prepared for several long days traveling in the vehicle. You stop along the way to be able to buy snacks, but be prepared for some unpleasant comfort stations. The days in the 4x4s, though, are quite exciting.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
No4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
It was very interesting rather than exciting. There were long days in the vehicle traveling through very uninteresting landscapes, but these are unavoidable, and once you reach Al Ula the scenery becomes much more interesting and beautiful. The days out in the 4x4s were excellent. The hotels are good, but fall down over small things that actually made me smile. It was definitely worth flying down to Abha as it is very mountainous there and completely different. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and really enjoyed absorbing some of the culture of Saudi Arabia.Holiday Reviews
