Bring a walking pole. You will need it. Also, the weather in October was colder and wetter than expected so bring sufficient warm clothes3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We stayed in a family-run hotel and had our meals in local restaurants. As a walking vacation, hopefully, there was no impact on the environment4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
The walks were good and not as difficult as I had anticipated. Steep climbs were gradual. However, a couple of downhill stretches were tricky due to very rocky paths and loose gravel. But overall, I found the walking vacation enjoyable. The same thing cannot be said about the food, though, as the cuisine in Alsace is heavily centerd around meatHoliday Reviews
