1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The trip to Goree island on our first day was probably the most memorable overall but the visit to Djoudj bird sanctuary, especially the pelicans, and Bandia game reserve were also highlights.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
You will get an insight into life in West Africa, the good (the friendliness of the people, the variety of scenery, the wildlife) and the less good (the unfinished buildings and rundown areas, the living and working conditions of some people, the plastic waste on the beaches) so be prepared and also be flexible when plans need to change.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We did visit a good number of local restaurants, stopped at a nomad village to give some gifts, made sure to tip all the local guides and went shopping at a few local markets. Also by visiting the wildlife parks we were helping to support their conservation efforts.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

We have many wonderful memories of our stay. We particularly appreciated the insights into Senegalese culture provided by our guides Leïty and Oumar.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Make sure you’re happy with the longish drives between some of the destinations (we thought they were worth it but they can seem long and you can’t play on your phone!). Carry notes of different value, ready for tipping. Have a pair of socks ready when visiting mosques.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We had meals in a number of small, local restaurants, which we hope benefited the locals.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
