The beautiful scenery and quietness of skiing in the high plateau with few other people around.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
The food was mostly fantastic, but set meals at a couple of the hotels could be hard for people with dietary issues. They are good about gluten free diets, but if you don’t want red meat you had better say you are a vegetarian who eats fish. One delightful inn owner assured me reindeer is not red meat.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
It certainly supported the local economy since everyone involved was local.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Stunning landscapes, combined with great food and welcoming Norwegian hosts.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
This vacation suits skiers with some experience of cross-country skiing, not novice converts from downhill skiing. Even experienced cross-country skiers in our group commented that the downhill sections of this trail were at the more challenging end of the scale for cross-country skiing.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We requested vegetarian (and fish) options, which all hotels provided. I think our group probably extended the season slightly for some hotels, because in a couple of cases they closed for the winter season as soon as we left. Perhaps that provided a small financial benefit to them, although maintaining a large hotel open for just seven people may not have been a net benefit.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

You're absolutely right—the Peer Gynt Trail does offer some more technical downhill sections that can be quite demanding, even for seasoned cross-country skiers. Be prepared for skiing with a fair amount of elevation gains. The ski tracks generally were in great condition. I was happy I chose to bring waxable skis instead of skins.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
The tour used trains and buses instead of individual cars. The mountain lodges were run by locals and seemed happy to receive us.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
