1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Great activities included (Jeep safari, sunrise walk, horseback ride, fishing, boat trips)

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

This is a full-on adventure vacation in the Pantanal. Excellent experience with so much wildlife/ birdlife to see. Day 1 and Day 4 are long traveling days. 6 hours by local minibus from Campo Grande then an hour by jeep along dirt roads to the Fazenda. It was good to see the countryside on the journey but it is a lot of time in a vehicle, with one break for toilet/ cafe. Accommodation is basic (think old-style hostel) and sheets and towels are threadbare but beds are comfortable and rooms have aircon. Food is traditional farm-style; plentiful and tasty but don’t expect gourmet food. The farm location is amazing; chickens, pet pig, horses are all around, as is the wildlife. (Bring earplugs for the early morning cockerel calls! It is a very busy time whilst in the Pantanal as there are so many activities included. This is fantastic but be prepared for long but very enjoyable days. Don’t expect luxury accommodation but the location is amazing. Your clothes will get very dusty and dirty so bring quick-drying clothes that you don’t mind getting very dirty. I would recommend staying in Campo Grande for the night at the end of the tour. We didn’t get back to Campo Grande until 2030 as the road was busy and it rained for part of the journey, thus slowing the traffic down. Not having the stress of having to get a flight the same day and staying in a hotel was a relief. Remember to take binoculars, a hat and bug spray - you’ll be spending a lot of time out in the open looking for wildlife and you want to be able to see it clearly when it is located.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, definitely brought money into the community. It was good to see so little rubbish around and the recycling of plastic, glass, metal etc.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Very good short vacation. So many activities are included in the price and the guide was amazing at finding and identifying wildlife. I’ve not given 5 stars purely because of the basic accommodation, old bedding, towels with holes in etc.
