Reviews for Sailing adventure in the Cyclades, Greece
Julia Johansson review 6 Jul 2026
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
We loved sailing every day and then exploring a new island every afternoon/evening.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Not to be attached to the itinerary/islands. We really wanted to go to Santorini and never got there and that was unexpected and disappointing. The actual cruise is called "Santorini & the Southern Cyclades", so it never even crossed my mind that we wouldn't go to Santorini.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Not really, to be honest. The crew wasn't local, and there didn't seem to be much focus on reducing the impact on the environment. Using water filters and environmentally friendly detergents was advertised but wasn't the case. The whole boat lived on bottled water, which I really didn't like.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
It was still a great trip and a fantastic experience. But they should make it clear that islands such as Santorini might not be part and really work on things like not using plastic water bottles.Read the operator's response here:
Thanks for you valued feedback and I was pleased that you enjoyed the vacation overall. Santorini is a tricky destination weather wise but we do visit whenever the weather permits. Thanks for your feedback about plastic mineral water bottles. Water is scarce in the Cyclades islands and dockside supply for yachts is not always drinking water, so we are not taking any risks on this. We have been supplying branded drinking water in non plastic recycleable cartons, though I understand there has been a supply issue locally over the last couple of weeks, so our crew had to resort to the only available alternative, i.e plastic bottles. We are on the case though and from this week back to normal. For next year we are working on a more sophisticated on board water filtration system for guarateed high quality drinking water. Our skipper Dennis qualifies as local, having lived in Greece for the last 15 years and bringing up his family there, also our entire technical support crew and local office team is Greek. Thanks for the info on the washing up liquid provided on board. Our policy is to always use 'sea safe' products on all our yachts, which has been re-confirmed to our skippers and support team in Mykonos.
