1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Cycling in Tallinn, testing fresh food in central market of Riga, kayaking and pick mushrooms in the Aukstaitija National Park. Dinning in Warsaw and the very lovely sunny tour leader.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Travel light, ready to walk up to twenty minutes and claim stairs with all your luggage. Be well prepared with tourist information in all places, as the tour leader is not a tour guide, only gives out limited local information and may leave you behind if you walk too slow.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Maybe, maybe not. It certainly benefits the travel company, it definitely have impacts on the environment.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

The tour leader is bubbly and fun, but the schedule is not well considered, we spent far too much daytime in wait for and on transport, little time or no time at all to visit museums. The accommodation is not good, we spent more than half of the time in attic rooms, there were occasions of no hot water in the shower, run out toilet paper etc. In comparison to some tours I went in the past, this one is a bit disappointing really.

Read the operator's response here:

Thank you for your feedback about the accommodation and transport on your trip. We do work with our local hotels and home stays to give them a good understanding of our clients expectations, especially in regards to hot water and toiled paper, so will pass your feedback along and work with them for future groups. In regard to the benefits and impacts of this trip we would like to highlight some of the ways in which your trip would have had a positive impact both on the environment and on the communities we visit. In the Baltic States, our focus is on making a positive impact, providing numerous opportunities for local interaction as we cover so much ground using all means of public transport. Visiting the markets in Riga and Vilnius is a great opportunity to have some local interaction and help support the communities we visit. Elderly people in the Baltic States have depended on selling their produce at markets for many years as often this is the only way they can survive. The money they receive from the government is not usually enough. So by visiting the markets, not only do you get a great chance for local interaction, but you also help support the locals by purchasing locally grown produce and products. Throughout this trip we use many locally operated and run hotels Not only does this give you an insight into Lithuanian life, but is also helps support the local families financially by enjoying their home cooked meals and lovely accommodation during your trip.
