1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

100% Seeing Tigers in Kanha Park. A Truly awesome and moving experience.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Do some background research. We are usually much more independent but recent life meant we just wanted someone else to organise everything for us and we turn up and enjoy it. However there were a few things we could have understood better before traveling which would have improved the experience. My bad. If you are doing game drives in the park take warm layers as it is very cold at dawn/evening (depending on time of year). Be prepared for a full on itinerary with little rest but it is so worth it. There is a lot to see & do and India is generally a frenetic place.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes partly. Local owned hotels which obviously have employed local staff. Also Guides and drivers on the tour. Kanha Park is very well organised and is used as a training center for other conservation efforts in India and you do get the feeling that the wildlife comes first which is great. However we did have to take internal flights as distances are so huge so our impact is a bit over our 'normal' to and from vacation flights.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Fascinating, Hectic, Colourful, Memorable,

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Seeing a tiger in the wild.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Go with an open mind and enjoy all the experiences. There is a lot of travel involved, mainly by car, so make sure you have something to occupy yourself for the journeys.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Considering the amount of car travel I do not believe that this helped to reduce environmental impacts. Spending money in local communities, with local guides and buying in local shops and stalls will have helped the local economy.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

The most amazing experience we have ever had. The organisation was superb, the guides (on the whole) were helpful and very knowledgeable. Our driver was first class, the Court Yard House was fantastic and the people there were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this vacation to anyone, even if they are first time travelers to the region.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

There were too many to list! Seeing the great architectural icons of India with good guides, our skilful and kind driver for whom nothing was too much trouble, and the thrill of seeing not one, but two tigers on the same day in Kanha National Park.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Time was tight; we only had ten days to fit a gallon into a pint pot. It was certainly worth it but next time I would give myself a few more days to rest and relax in between seeing the sights of India. However, Neelesh devised an excellent itinerary for us which fulfilled my desire to see as much as possible and during the long drives we were able to relax a little before the next amazing cultural experience!

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

We had different guides in different cities, our driver was employed for five days and Courtyard House Hotel in Kanha uses solar panels to provide electricity. I was very impressed with this particular hotel - it employs local people, some from the nearby tribal village, and is an oasis of calm.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

We had a really fascinating vacation - even the night on an Indian train was memorable, though perhaps I would travel by day next time... I have no hesitation in recommending our tour operator - having never been to India, I had innumerable questions and Neelesh was most patient in replying to my endless emails! All together a wonderful experience!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

There were so many differnt things to take in across the whole tour but I suppose the highlights had to be walking through the arch and seeing the Taj Mahal for real. Photos do not do it justice and it really is breathtaking, you can see why it is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Going on Safari was also great, although we did not actually see a lion the surroundings are beautiful and a pleasant change from the hustle of the towns and cities we travelled.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Travel lightly to avoid having to move lots of luggage from place to place, especially via train. Talk to your driver, they have lots of information and tips and were all friendly but can be quiet, especially if the guide is in the car. Be open minded and accepting of differnt cultures so that you can look beyond possible first impressions. Be prepared that the guides may try to get you to visit shops or manufacturers which are interesting but always try to talk you into buying things. These can be interesting, especially the little cottage industries, where you can pick up small items as souveniers but we were also offered Persian rugs and marble tables!

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

To some extent, especially in the lodge where we stayed on safari. Obviously the operator is a small local business so in that respect yes.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

It was a very memorable experience. There are so many things to take in and I have heard many say that it is an assault on the senses, the sights, sounds and smells can be overwhelming in both good and bad ways. We are really pleased we have been able to experience India.
