1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The location of the hotel, its glorious isolation and the breathtaking views in every direction; the friendliness of our hosts Des and Ilaria; our delightful suite and the delicious food we were served every morning and evening.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Be prepared for some fairly rugged walking in a stunning location, with some steep inclines. We tended to walk from the hotel to avoid having to use the car more than necessary. (The approach to the hotel is along approximately 4km of track, much of which is not tarmac’s and which is quite a bumpy ride. However we managed this perfectly well in our hired car - a fairly standard Peugeot 208).3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We certainly hope so. We ate at local restaurants in various places most lunchtimes; we know that all the food we consumed at he the hotel was locally sourced; we visited local attractions in Castril and Des and Ilaria pointed us in the direction of many local activities (eg kayaking, canyoning) and places of historical interest (eg Bronze Age and other archaeological sites).4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Absolutely wonderful. We were very sad to leave.Grace McDonald review 15 Oct 2022
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The unique geology of the area, the lack of other visitors (low season), the local fiesta, the hotel & its location - we really felt we were somewhere quite special.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Use all the great resources that Ilaria and Des offer - also run your itinerary past them - they had great suggestions for places to go and things to see to maximise your time.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Definitely - the hotel’s environmental footprint is minimal & it’s clear that sustainability is extremely important to Ilaria and Des. We spent money in local businesses in the area out of season, in a less visited area of the country, benefitting the local economy.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Terrific! We both loved it. So much of our enjoyment was down to the care and attention of the hosts. Thank you Ilaria and Des - very much appreciated.John Penn review 22 May 2017
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The walking was excellent with a good selection of routes some easy and some a bit harder.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Go its a nice part of the country and the people are friendly.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
As we spent money in the region it benefited local people and supported conservation. Environmental impact is more difficult as a car is essential but as stated previously we walked a lot. Most of the walks required a car to the start point but from there you were on your own. No food or drink was available on all but one of the walks so it was carry what you wanted and bring out the detritus.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Excellent very quiet and peaceful. The service and food at the property was very goodHoliday Reviews
