1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Easter Island and Torres del Paine (our vacation was Chile only)2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Carefully check all aspects of your itinerary and clarify before you travel. As this was peak season, check yourselves what you need to book ahead of time.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, in terms of the hostels that we stayed at and local guides we used.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Whilst we had an amazing time, I felt that there were too many layers of travel providers. The operator did very little and had off loaded almost all support to their local partners, who were based in Argentina (not Chile) and emergency support seemed to be coming from Peru. And then they had sub-contracted again. In country transfers were sometimes included and sometimes not - presumably to reduce the price. There was nothing arranged in Easter Island to visit the National Park - and since 2023, no one can visit the sites without a guide - so we had to scramble to arrange this ourselves during peak season. Whilst this was mentioned in the small print of the itinerary, we would have appreciated some proactive suggestions on this before we travelled. Overall it created unnecessary stress over what was otherwise a great vacation. Will carefully check on this supply chain if booking again through Responsible Travel.Read the operator's response here:

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Visiting Patagonia specifically Peninsula Valdes and the wildlife there. Loved seeing whales, sea lions, penguins, elephant seals, various land terrestrial animals and birds. The tranquility of Patagonia was wonderful. The local partner advised us really well telling us the things we could easily do ourselves to reduce costs or give us the most flexibility such as hiring a car.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Don't try and cram too much in - distances are long in Argentina so be realistic and prioritise what you want to see in the time you have available to you. Also use local independent hotels/transfers/excursions. The added benefit of speaking to local people really enriches the traveling experience. The local partner was very good advising us on both these things, using their local knowledge which helped us to focus our planning and get the most out of the trip.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I hope so. Two of the hotels we chose for their efforts towards conservation (in Puerto Parimides and Estero del Ibera), the others were independently run. The individuals working for transfer companies were local themselves as were the guides in Ibera with a dedication to local conservation.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Unforgettable, thoroughly enjoyed and would go back a do it all over again in an instant.Cerys Clarke review 21 Oct 2023

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
We loved Lençóis The scenery and the treks are amazing. The waterfalls and rock pools increadible to swim in. We would also suggest the trip to Pantanal - Caiman ecolodge , although not offered by this operator it should be included as an option since the Onçafari project is well worth a visit. It was incredible We also loved Rio and Salvador. Sadly although the waterfalls at Iguazu are incredible we were totally rained out and soaked to the bone and couldn’t fully enjoy due to thunder storms2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Do Caiman and Onçafari. Well worth doing Lençóis. Bring waterproofs and some warm gear for July August vacations. It’s cold at night and on safari at Pantanal You definitely need two days to do Igua?u properly. We only had one and due to torrential rain we had to quit after doing Argentinian side and missed the Brazilian side. Our soaked through trainers couldn’t take any more walking Do take long waterproofs or waterproof ponchos Brazil Is expensive and I would take some Real to start with at least. ATM Lençóis didn’t work so take money out in bigger places and cities Lots internal flights but Rio airports are easy to go through Buy your gifts in markets the airports are extortionate Return flight works out very long if leaving from Salvador3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes Onçafari definitely did benefit conservation and I felt the Lençóis trip also was glorious and environment impact low since we took bus from Salvador Most of hotels were eco friendly4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
We loved every minute. The self drive in Bonito and Pantanal was super exciting It’s good to be independent travelers for a bit. All local guides were very good and helpful. We would definitely travel with this operator again. I would perhaps do fewer centers since packing and unpacking every day or so was very tiring A Memorable vacation enjoyed by adults and kids alike Perhaps could have done with a few days chilling at the end on the beach if we had few extra days vacation dayHoliday Reviews
