1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Pretty much all of it. The ruins of Jerash were amazing to see, floating in the Dead Sea is one of those iconic life experiences, and of course Petra is just one gorgeous view after another. Our cycling ride to Little Petra was a tough ride but well worth the effort and our camel ride in Wadi Rum was the quintessential Middle Eastern experience.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Be very clear about what kinds of hotels and experiences you are looking for. The company was very flexible and accommodating, but if I had been more specific from the beginning, things would have been organized more smoothly. Also, book early. I thought 2 months ahead was enough, but many things were booked up by then.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Parts yes, parts no. I was happy to use a local company and local guides for the trip, and we mostly stayed in what I think were locally-based hotels. The environmental impact is harder to gauge. I find many hotels say they are concerned for the environment, but towels are still washed daily, even when hung on a rack, and of course the water bottle problem is an issue. We always travel with our own bottles, but hotels seem to only provide water in small bottles.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
It was a fantastic week...just what we were hoping for.Holiday Reviews
