1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Our thoughtful and interested leader who worked hard to engage with everyone and tried to include particular ‘wants’ which is not easy!2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Some of the accommodation was better than others. Can’t recall name but last night but one was clean but cramped especially for 2 people and had little room to put bags or clothes . Blue lagoon was nice. Breakfasts generally good except sadly the last one in Sagres where we finally had time to relax over the food & coffee, but it was the poorest one of all. Ideally would have liked more time for breakfast, cleaning teeth etc before heading off. I found 30 mins rushed . I was happy with early starts due to hot weather as access to shade is minimal especially if hot & ploughing through soft sand. Probably my error but I didn’t realise the path is very well used & often not far from ‘built areas’ & others walking the route were doing so independently using same hostels/ baggage transfers, so I’m unsure how much this trip & itinerary is ‘good value’ or different from ‘just doing it oneself’. I thought it was a much remoter walk & sensible to do in a group. Reaching our destinations mid afternoon was good as allowed a rest; swim, explore.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
5 stars to guide. Overall for trip route/ itinerary / value for money 3-4 stars. Icing on cake would be a guide who was very good on botany, but I knew this was not a nature trip with lots time to stop & look at flora so that’s for me to action on any future group trip I choose. Guide was informative on land ownership / management practice / politics which was interesting. The itinerary could be improved significantly by reducing road / track walking & adding more coast or other ‘interesting ‘ habitats.Holiday Reviews
