1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The most memorable part of our vacation was visiting medieval and historic villages (Fossombrone, Cagli, Gubbio, Fermignano, San Marino) while exploring the stunning natural beauty of the area (Gola del Furlo). We appreciated being able to escape the noise and chaos of urban life without sacrificing any the modern comforts, thanks to the excellent accommodations.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Make sure to have a car to fully explore the area, and don't let any fears about being close to nature, such as encounters with local wildlife, hold you back. Embrace the opportunity to explore the surrounding countryside.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Absolutely. Our stay at an agriturismo that practices organic farming and uses solar energy made us feel like we were contributing positively. By choosing this locally-run accommodation, we supported the local economy. The hosts also offered eco-conscious recommendations and encouraged us to participate in activities that benefit the local community. One incredible activity, which we unfortunately didn't have the possibility to try but highly recommend, is the foraging walks occasionally organized by the staff. These walks are a fantastic way to learn about wildlife conservation and connect with nature. If you have the chance, definitely go for it!

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Our stay exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and service, providing us with a rejuvenating and educational experience. The warm hospitality, availability, and kindness of the staff made our vacation truly enjoyable. We also greatly appreciated the attention and care given to the environment, the people, and the well-being.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The accommodation really is a kind of heaven on earth. The peaceful farm and its comfortable and stylish accommodation is surrounded by the most beautiful countryside, while lovely towns, notably Urbino and Urbania, are within a few minutes’ drive; Gubbio, just on the border with Umbria, is another stunning city on a hill. Giulia is the most attentive and helpful host who will advise as well as sort out any problem. The pool, in its sylvan setting, and kept beautifully clean for guests, is another big plus; and the peace and quiet cannot be exaggerated. There are good restaurants within a few minutes drive, while Fermignano caters for all domestic needs. We could have stayed so much longer, just soaking up the beauty and quiet of the Marche; it’s a wonderful, unspoilt and still undiscovered corner of Italy and I can’t imagine many better bases from which to explore it than this accommodation – just book….

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Don't be too ambitious with the sightseeing. The local towns and villages are lovely and just being at the accommodation is a treat in itself.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Well, we used the local shops and restaurants which must help the local economy. I'm not sure flying from the UK and hiring a car does a lot for environmental impact.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Wonderful. The Marche is a lovely part of Italy and the Locanda is a little paradise within it.
