1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The accommodation really is a kind of heaven on earth. The peaceful farm and its comfortable and stylish accommodation is surrounded by the most beautiful countryside, while lovely towns, notably Urbino and Urbania, are within a few minutes’ drive; Gubbio, just on the border with Umbria, is another stunning city on a hill. Giulia is the most attentive and helpful host who will advise as well as sort out any problem. The pool, in its sylvan setting, and kept beautifully clean for guests, is another big plus; and the peace and quiet cannot be exaggerated. There are good restaurants within a few minutes drive, while Fermignano caters for all domestic needs. We could have stayed so much longer, just soaking up the beauty and quiet of the Marche; it’s a wonderful, unspoilt and still undiscovered corner of Italy and I can’t imagine many better bases from which to explore it than this accommodation – just book….

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Don't be too ambitious with the sightseeing. The local towns and villages are lovely and just being at the accommodation is a treat in itself.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Well, we used the local shops and restaurants which must help the local economy. I'm not sure flying from the UK and hiring a car does a lot for environmental impact.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Wonderful. The Marche is a lovely part of Italy and the Locanda is a little paradise within it.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Everything was memorable! I think the best part for us was also the simplest - sitting on the terrace in the sun, whenever we could, just looking at and drinking in the stunning view and feel of Italian rolling hills! These hills we classes as being all ours for seven whole lovely days, as there wasn't another soul around for miles!

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Car hire is essential as the apartment is beautifully and wonderfully remote! However, having said that my advice would be to stay local and not drive too far a field! You don't need to do so, as pure beauty is right where you are! My friend I was with, was on crutches and in a wheelchair, due to a broken foot from before we travelled! This meant our planned trips to Pisa etc all went in the bin, for practical reasons of her getting around. Yet, we both said that we were glad, as so often on vacations you spend all your time driving from one tourist spot to another. We didn't see one other tourist all week, which was so refreshing. We visited our nearest local towns and celebrated being in them. Urbania is lovely and obviously you must visit the famous walled town of Urbino! However, just driving randomly down the road revealed stunning hill top towns and little villages that are the real Italy just waiting to be enjoyed! Truly magical! Guilia and her parents were wonderful hosts. We really recommend taking up their offer of a home cooked five course Italian meal one night during your stay, as it was obviously delicious, but also was such an authentically Italian joyful experience. Thank you Guilia!

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, absolutely! Guilia runs a farm and her produce is used by some of the local providers of food and drink. I wouldn't imagine there was much, if any, negative environmental impact from our stay. We ate locally in the restaurants and used local small shops, such as a little local Art Gallery Shop with lovely gifts.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

I can sum this up in one sentence - my friend and I both cried on the night before we had to leave; one of my best vacations ever!
