Italy's evocative island is a sun-baked and seductive site, rough around the edges, with a rugged volcano at its heart.

CARBON REDUCTIONThis is a small group journey with a maximum of 12 participants, allowing us to operate with shared transportation and reduce the environmental impact per traveler compared with larger group tours.
The programme includes a shared shuttle transfer on arrival from Palermo Airport and shared transport throughout the tour by minivan or minibus according to group size, avoiding the need for multiple private vehicles.
The itinerary encourages a slower way of traveling, with walking tours included in several destinations such as Palermo, Caltabellotta and Syracuse.
Accommodation is provided in small boutique-style hotels. In particular, FerroHotel in Modica has introduced several sustainability measures, including energy efficiency systems, actions to reduce single-use plastics and water waste, food waste reduction initiatives, and a focus on local and seasonal ingredients for its breakfast offering.
The tour includes a seasonal traditional lunch in Caltabellotta, prepared with ingredients from the surrounding area, supporting the use of regional products and traditional food practices.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
This journey allows travelers to experience Sicily’s diverse landscapes, from coastal areas and salt pans to rural countryside and hilltop villages, while traveling in a small group with a reduced impact on the places visited.
The itinerary includes experiences connected to the natural environment, such as the salt pans of Trapani, a unique coastal landscape shaped by centuries of traditional salt production, and the rural surroundings of Caltabellotta, where agricultural traditions remain closely connected to the land.
Throughout the journey, travelers are encouraged to respect the environments they visit by reducing waste, following local guidelines and leaving natural areas undisturbed.

LOCAL ECONOMYThis small group journey is designed to support local businesses and communities by working with locally based suppliers and encouraging travelers to spend time in smaller towns and villages across Sicily.
Accommodation is provided in small boutique-style hotels rather than international chain properties, supporting independent hospitality businesses in the destinations visited.
The tour works with local guides who share their knowledge of the places they live in, from Palermo and Monreale to Syracuse and the smaller villages included in the itinerary.
A key experience takes place in Caltabellotta, where travelers visit a village outside the usual tourist itineraries and take part in activities connected to local traditions, including meeting a shepherd, tasting traditional cheeses and enjoying a seasonal lunch prepared with products from the area. The visit provides direct support to small-scale producers and local businesses.
The wine experience in Marsala also supports a local winery, allowing travelers to discover the history and production of one of Sicily’s most distinctive wines.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
This tour is operated with local partners and suppliers in Sicily, creating income opportunities for people working in tourism, hospitality, guiding and food production.
We work with local guides and service providers who share their knowledge and experience of the places visited, supporting employment within the destination.
The tour welcomes travelers regardless of gender, nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation or background. We aim to create a respectful and inclusive environment for all participants.
The itinerary has a relaxed pace and is suitable for many senior travelers. However, guests should be comfortable walking on uneven surfaces, cobbled streets and in historic areas, as several destinations include pedestrian areas and some steps. Travelers with specific mobility requirements are welcome to contact us before booking.
