ENVIRONMENT: We prioritize partnering with local suppliers dedicated to preserving their homeland and utilizing local products. Our hosts and local guides will assist travelers in interacting with nature responsibly, ensuring a positive environmental impact. They will provide briefings on sustainable practices, such as using refillable bottles and daypacks instead of plastic bags to reduce waste, and adhering to local customs and laws regarding waste disposal.
During the trip, travelers will visit a local vegetable farm and a sheep farm to experience the daily lives of farming families who have worked the land for generations. These visits will offer insights into sustainable farming practices, highlighting the importance of every drop of water and biodiversity in producing high-quality products. The farms serve as tangible examples of how environmental changes affect land productivity and the preservation of traditional products and delicacies.

ACCOMMODATION: We have selected a hotel that prioritizes sustainability in its practices and the actions of its team members. The hotel follows global responsibility protocols, including efficient water and energy management, waste reduction, and recycling efforts. Rooms feature an automatic system that shuts off electricity when guests leave, and the hotel promotes towel reuse to further support environmental conservation.

CARBON FOOTPRINT: Throughout the trip, we will stay at a single hotel, departing daily for visits without changing accommodations. The farthest we will travel from the hotel is one hour, significantly reducing carbon emissions. On free days, we encourage travelers to use trains or carpool for excursions and activities in the Umbrian and Tuscan provinces. The hotel’s convenient location within walking distance of town allows guests to easily stroll to dinner and explore the area during their free time. Furthermore, vegetarian and vegan food options are available at all meals included in this tour, which helps lower our carbon footprint by reducing reliance on animal agriculture.

GROUP SIZE: With a maximum of 13 participants, this small group tour is designed to minimize our impact on the environments and communities we visit.

SUPPORTING THE LOCAL ECONOMY: By hiring local guides and using locally owned services, we actively support the local economy and deepen our appreciation of Italian culture. We dine at locally-owned restaurants, arrange day tours at family-run farms, and hire local transportation services. Additionally, we collaborate with the local tourism office and city museum to contribute to the town's heritage preservation. Our trip host will also guide travelers to the local city market and top local artisans' shops, helping to preserve traditional craftsmanship and ensure that spending benefits the community.

FAIR CONDITIONS: We ensure that all guides and vendors receive fair wages and work under excellent conditions. To recognize and reward exceptional service, we also provide bonuses when they go above and beyond.

LOCAL CULTURE: Travelers will have the chance to meet and exchange with locals through not only the variety of local excursions offered on this trip but also due to the fact that they will have the opportunity to stay at the same small town for 10 days and mingle around with locals. There are many local fairs and festivals in September throughout Tuscany and Umbria that our travelers can attend. By attending and participating in these events, they can mingle with the locals and really get to know the way of life in the region. This also contributes to the growth of the economies of the local towns and villages.

LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND CULTURE: All activities on this trip are designed to take place in charming local villages, towns, and family-run businesses, providing travelers with ample opportunities to connect with local residents. Staying in the same small town for 10 days fosters meaningful interactions and a deeper immersion in regional life. September offer numerous fairs and festivals throughout the region, allowing travelers to fully engage with the local community and experience the vibrant culture.

While mass tourism has broadened travel experiences, it can sometimes overwhelm popular destinations. To counter this, we've selected a more off-the-beaten-path location in Italy, enabling travelers to explore the country’s rich heritage without contributing to the congestion of heavily visited cities like Florence. This approach supports more sustainable tourism and helps preserve the charm of less frequented areas.
