During this tour you will be going to lots of Archaeological Castles around Jordan, do preserve and conserve these sites we ask you to always stay on the main path and not touch or pick up on things laying around the site. Also we ask our clients to please not buy from children, so not to encourage them to break of pieces of sculptures, rocks etc. They won’t realize that they are actually breaking the site and we strongly feel that these are beautiful pieces of history that should be conserved.

When you travel during spring you will find lots of wild flowers and plants all over Jordan. Yet Jordan isn’t green and is trying to cope with a desertification problem. We remind all our guests to please leave the flowers and plants alone and not to pick them. Also many are endangered and so we want nature to be able to fight back and let these beautiful flowers grow back more and more.

People

During this tour you will also be visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Four to be exactly! Petra, Wadi Rum, Ajlune Castle and Desert Castles. Wadi Rum being the more natural site and Petra, and Desert Castles the more cultural sites. The conservation and maintenance on these sites are checked every year. Which puts extra pressure on the local authorities to make sure these sites are conserved well. By conserving these sites well, it strengthens the surrounding communities ties with the sites while improving the environment around the site and the site itself. By putting this extra pressure on these sites it means these sites will be less in danger of local life and tourism.

As mentioned above our guides and drivers will keep an eye on our guests not buying souvenirs from children. Besides that this could harm the sites, children who make money via selling souvenirs are encouraged by their parents to drop out of school and go and more money. For this reason it is also very important you do not buy anything from children. So that they will instead go back to school as their business of selling local souvenirs doesn’t pick up. Instead we ask you to go to the Handmade in Jordan shop in Petra or Rainbow Street in Amman (during summer). You will find only souvenirs made by local adult artists here and so buying from these places you are supporting communities and you get to take real Jordanian souvenirs home with you.
