Reusing water bottles is the best way to protect the environment in Romania, especially since recycling is difficult to come by. Our local leaders do this by keeping 10L water bottle in the support vehicle, as well as encouraging everyone to use the local tap water which is perfectly drinkable. They do not distribute single-use plastic water bottles.

Since the focus of this trip is cycling, this is the main mode of transport used and it doesn't use any carbon. A support van is provided to travel only the distance which you will cycle in order to minimise carbon emissions.

As a travel company we are continually looking for ways to improve and are proud to be ‘Responsible in everything we do’. Education is key, and so all staff, Tour Leaders and partnering suppliers are trained in responsible and sustainable tourism. At our Head Office, we continually strive towards a sustainable and planet-friendly working environment, including having solar panels installed and a company commitment to reducing our plastic usage.

People

Getting off the beaten track is the best way to see the real side of Romania, as well as ensure we can continue going back as you will be directly supporting the smaller villages. You have many opportunities to shop in the local markets as only breakfast and a two lunches are included. An example is our visit the traditional flour mill of Ohaba which has been in the same family for more than 200 years. We support them through the small visitation fee as well as buying their homemade refreshments.

Through the accommodation we use we recommend restaurants to your, we ensure they are locally owned and run. By keeping our business with them, we help maintain employment levels for those living in the villages.
