Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

This tour is primarily an 'on foot' adventure with only airport transfers (15m & 90m respectively) and one transfer from Marrakech to the High Atlas (90m). Our accommodation can only be reached on foot or by mule.We work with the policy of ‘take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints’. In other words, we ensure that we as a company leave these areas as we find them and as such we operate a strict no litter policies, taking all refuse to either be recycled or properly disposed of in nearby towns.
On this hiking adventure, we follow tracks carefully so as not to degrade the landscape, while enjoying stunning mountainous panoramic views.
This hiking adventure visits local village communities in the valleys of Imlil and Azzeden and a strong focus is local Berber culture.
Finally, we are very proud to have partnered with Water-To-Go, specialists in personal and expedition water purification, instantly, and on-demand. Their unique, 350L water bottles incorporate advanced filtration technology to convert even the dirtiest water to drinking water as you fill up.
Being able to produce safe drinking water from sources off the beaten track, of sometimes dubious quality, offers incredible benefits to our adventure travelers and eliminates the need for single-use plastic bottles. We subsidise this product to make it more accessible to you.
People
We operate just 4 small group tours per year and throughout this exciting 9-day hiking adventure our clients will meet and benefit from the work and support of local guides, and those working with the Kasbah du Toubkal which is providing employment for people from these more remote communities. Our wonderful accomodation; the Kasbah, gives 5% of their turnover to an NGO they helped create on their doorstep in the village of Imlil; the Association de Bassins d'Imlil, which uses the funds to create and maintain local services such as the baths, and a local ambulance, funded solely through the magic 5%.
During our adventure we learn about the work of Education for All, a well established and recognised charity set up by one of the 2 brothers who transformed the Kasbah from a ruin into the stunning retreat it is today. The charity fundraises to run secondary school boarding houses for girls who would otherwise be unable to access education after primary school due to the remoteness of their villages.
Morocco is a Muslim country and it is important that our clients know how to dress and behave appropriately, particularly in the more remote Azzeden Valley where tourists are seen less frequently. Our guides are fully respectful of this and impart their knowledge to our travelers so as not to offend the local culture and customs.
On Day 6 of our itinerary we visit the women's association growing fruit trees for the High Atlas Foundation, whose mission it is to enhance the economic well being of farms in rural Morocco.
We encourage our travelers to support the communities by spending their money with local businesses through the purchasing of locally sourced goods and souvenirs.
